About us
One agency, one destination, and a guest we know well
Our story
It began with an ordinary family trip. We went to Norway in July looking for cool air and the landscapes we had seen in photographs, and found a country that exceeded every expectation — but we also found that everything was arranged for a different kind of traveller. Finding a halal restaurant outside the big cities was hard. So was finding a programme that left room for maghrib on an evening that never quite gets dark, or a guide who understood why a family needs an afternoon of rest rather than a seventh stop.
We came home with one conviction: Norway deserves to be seen, but it needs to be organised for us, in our own way. That is where Jamaal Al Shamal began.

Why Norway in particular
Because it offers exactly what a Gulf traveller looks for in summer: air between 15 and 22 degrees in July, extraordinary nature within an hour of every hotel, a level of safety that lets a family move freely, and a cleanliness and calm that make the trip genuinely restful rather than another effort.
And above all, the midnight sun: a phenomenon that cannot really be described to anyone who has not seen it — daylight that runs to dawn, and golden light resting on the mountains for hours. Children remember it for years.
Why Jamaal Al Shamal
How we understand the Khaleeji traveller
The difference is not translation; it is the details that never appear in a brochure. We book connecting rooms or family suites, because Khaleeji families travel together and should not be split across floors. We avoid restaurants that cannot vouch for the source of their meat, rather than leaving you to ask. We leave room in the programme for Friday prayer at the nearest mosque. We plan for the grandmother who may not climb the mountain trail, arranging something beautiful for her rather than a wait in the vehicle.
And we take privacy seriously: many of our guests would simply rather not share their holiday with strangers, which is why the private-group option is available on every package without exception.
Guaranteed halal food
Certified halal restaurants in the cities, and pre-prepared halal meals from halal kitchens in remote areas. You will never have to ask at the door.
Prayer times & qibla
Stops are scheduled around prayer times, your guide carries the timetable and points out the qibla, and prayer mats are kept on board.
Private & family-only groups
Every tour can be booked as a closed group for your family or friends only, with a dedicated vehicle, a private guide and full flexibility.
Our promise
We will not sell you a programme we would not recommend to our own family. We will tell you plainly if the dates you chose are not the right ones, if the itinerary will exhaust your children, or if there is a better option at a lower price. A journey that ends well brings us ten more; a journey sold under pressure never comes back.
Shall we start planning your summer?
Tell us how many are travelling and which dates suit you, and we will come back with a detailed proposal within 24 hours.
